RS Puri Indah Grand Opening

Spanking new RS Puri Indah

12 May 2008 – It took months of planning no less, from compiling a guest list spanning the industry’s who-is-who including Mr. Ir. Aburizal Bakrie – Minister for Social Welfare, Dr. Ing, Fauzi Wibowo – Governor DKI Jakarta, Mr Prijanto – Vice Governor DKI Jakarta, right down to the flower arrangements and food selection. On the day of grand opening of Rumah Sakit Puri Indah, the second hospital established by Pondok Indah Healthcare Group (PIHG), one senses relief when it was clear that all the hard work in getting the hospital ready had indeed paid off. To all present on that day, it was an unmistakable measure of PIHG’s determination in making sure RS Puri Indah set the standards in Indonesian healthcare scene.

Healthcare is undergoing rapid and unprecedented change, and Indonesia is not spared from this wave. Increasing demands of patients and healthcare professionals alike plus market competitiveness are pushing forward-thinking hospitals to seek for the right solution.

RS Puri Indah is the first hospital in Indonesia to implement our latest offering on Hospital Information System – VESALIUS.geo. In doing so, hospital has taken a giant leap in transforming how the hospital operates in managing patient information and driving improvements both frontline and healthcare services.

Chief Executive Officer of novaHEALTH, Lai Teik Kin, says the implementation at Puri Indah was a rewarding journey. “Although the use of computers by caregivers in Indonesia goes beyond the traditional boundaries of their tasks, PIHG decision-makers embraced the IT Vision because of the well-documented benefits. As part of the change management, both PIHG management and Nova also had to continuously engage users on how the system can help the hospital meet new standards of governance and compliance.”

“To meet the increasing challenges and needs of the healthcare industry, Pondok Indah Healthcare Group has placed its focus on patient-safety and to provide fast and efficient services. The role of Information Technology (IT) is absolutely crucial in instantaneous delivery of accurate information at each point-of-service in the hospital.

In VESALIUS, we have found an integrated solution that consolidates information from medical records, queue display, laboratory, radiology, finance and various other departments and presents them to our user on a single desktop.”

In implementing Computerized Patient Order Entry (CPOE), RSPI has become a pioneer in embracing IT to advocate patient-safety. With many safety features inherent in VESALIUS.geo such as drug allergy and contraindication checks, the system can alert doctors before mistakes are committed.

VESALIUS’s unique architecture allows the running of a single system and sharing the same database for multiple institutions, a strategy adopted by the Pondok Indah Healthcare Group (PIHG) as it supports vision of One Patient-One Record that gives care providers access to the complete patient medical record regardless of which hospital he practices in.

By adopting a fully-computerized system where paper usage is minimized, it goes a long way in re-affirming PIHG’s commitment in making their hospital a green and environment-friendly facility.

The system was implemented jointly by novaHEALTH and PT Novatara Indonesia, the local distributor for VESALIUS healthcare products.
