1 Oct 2024 – Our heartiest congratulations to Associate Professor Daniel Ting, a senior consultant at the Singapore National Eye Centre and director of the AI Office at SingHealth, has been recognised for his groundbreaking work in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into ophthalmology.
His recent innovation focuses on the use of AI for retinal imaging, particularly targeting blinding diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.
On September 27, he was named the winner of the 2024 Young Scientist Award—one of the categories under the President’s Science and Technology Awards. The Singapore National Academy of Science presents the annual awards and is supported by the National Research Foundation.
On receiving the award, Assoc Professor Ting said, “This award strengthens my commitment to leverage cutting-edge AI technologies to find more cures, create more cutting-edge health innovations by creating new intellectual properties, start-ups, and scaling Singapore’s home-grown AI innovations globally.”
