St Andrew’s Community Hospital to implement VESALIUS

Oct 2006 – St. Andrew’s Community Hospital (SACH) is a community service organisation supported by the St. Andrew’s Mission Hospital, a non-profit voluntary welfare organisation set up in 1913.

In April 2005, as part of its plan to expand and enhance services SACH moved to a brand new 11-storey, 200-bedded hospital – located next to an acute care general hospital – Changi General Hospital. This helps to better facilitate coordinated and integrated care for patients and sharing of services.

Under Outpatient Services, the hospital provides:

  • General Outpatient Services
  • Specialist Service in Rehabilitative Medicine
  • Day Rehabilitation Centre
  • Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy

Under Inpatient Services, the hospital provides:

  • Continuing Medical Care
  • Rehabilitative Care
  • Respite Care
  • Paediatric Care
  • Home Care

In mid-2006, SACH embarked on a tender process to select a vendor to upgrade their Hospital Information System to overcome shortcomings of their present system and improve patient service levels. As a result of numerous demonstrations and discussions, SACH opted for VESALIUS a full-fledged Hospital Information Systemwhich covers front-end modules such as Appointments, Registrations, ADT and billing to ancillary support modules such as Pharmacy, Medical Records to back-end support for Inventory and integration to the Financial System.

The first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed in 6.5 months.
