PROF WONG TIEN YIN, EYRIS CO-FOUNDER HONOURED IN ASIAN SCIENTIST 100

May 2021 – Every year since 2016, Asian Scientist Magazine compiles a list of Asia’s most outstanding researchers. Now into its sixth edition, the Asian Scientist 100 list celebrates the success of the region’s best and brightest, highlighting their achievements across a range of scientific disciplines. Honourees must have received a national or international prize in the preceding year for their research. Alternatively, they must have made a significant scientific discovery or provided leadership in academia or industry.

We proudly announce that one of EyRIS’ co-founders, Prof Wong Tien Yin has been named in this prestigious list.

Prof Wong was recognised in this list on the basis of being elected in 2020 as an international member of the US National Academy of Medicine for his contributions to the diagnosis and prevention of major eye diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and myopia. He was also recognised for devising strategies to implement screening and disease prevention through the use of telemedicine and innovative imaging; and for leadership in developing academic pathways for clinician-scientists.

Our heartiest congratulations to Prof Wong for this outstanding achievement.
