Fortis Healthcare Partners Nova for Growth

16 Oct 2011 – Nova via its subsidiary novaHEALTH has secured a project to implement VESALIUS Hospital & Clinical Information System in Fortis Healthcare’s first hospital in Singapore.

“Fortis Healthcare Singapore is pleased to be working with Nova to implement VESALIUS.geo 8.3 Health Information System at its upcoming specialist surgical hospital at Adam Road and clinics at Novena Specialist Center. We wanted a solution which could deliver a fully filmless, paperless, scriptless, and chartless approach towards modern inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory healthcare. We aim to exceed the ‘4-less’ challenge laid down by former Health Minister, Mr. Khaw Boon Wan by introducing fully electronic clinical protocols for treatment; electronic consent; and tablet and mobile access to patient health information and electronic record,” Mr. Jeffrey Yeo, Senior Director, Operations explained Fortis IT strategy.

The hospital is scheduled to open in mid-2012 while the Novena Specialist Center will be receiving patients by the turn of the year.

As the person driving this strategy, Mr. Yeo added, “Fortis also wants to improve patient experience and care by partnering a solutions provider which can deliver a rich-experience patient portal which allows our patients to schedule appointments, access their own clinical history and medical records, plan their next visit, learn about their health condition, and discuss treatment options with their doctors, all without having to step into the clinic. We found a knowledgeable and reliable partner in novaHEALTH, and we are glad to start our flagship hospital here in Singapore with their support.”

“As a healthcare informatics company, we are keen to work with Fortis having found them to be progressive in sprouting new ideas and adopting technology into their work processes. I am positive the collaboration will also strengthen VESALIUS especially in enhancing patient service,” said Mr. Lai Teik Kin, novaHEALTH CEO.
