novaBIM (Taiwan) Ltd, a subsidiary of novaCITYNETS of Singapore, has been awarded a contract to provide Building Information Modelling (BIM) consulting services for the design and construction of a hospital in the SanChong province of New Taipei City. Comprising of 9-storey building with 3 basement floors, this modern 190-bed hospital will have a total floor area of 24,000 square meters.
As part of the contract, novaBIM (Taiwan) will provide guidance to and advise the client on industry best practices including BIM modeling techniques and methodologies, quality control and site audit using BIM technology. For the project owner, they look towards intelligent object-oriented modeling to ensure design oversights or conflicts are spotted early in the project and ensure the construction proceeds smoothly without cost-overruns and delays.
Leveraging on cutting-edge BIM technology and our extensive experience in design and construction, novaCITYNETS has been an industry leader in BIM implementations for the entire building life cycle, providing consulting services in Asia and the Middle-East region for the past 15 years. Since its incorporation in early 2013, novaBIM (Taiwan) has been actively involved in promoting the innovative approach to virtual construction in Taiwan.
We have been providing professional advice to Urban Development Authorities in Taipei and professionals from the construction industry and participated in workshops and seminars, speaking on BIM & FM (Facility Management) topics.
Currently, novaBIM is working closely with local architects and engineers to convince them to use BIM technology for landmark projects in the cities of Taipei, Taichung and Taoyan.
From the keen interest shown by local authorities and industry-players, we are positive Taiwan will emerge as a leading proponent and early adopter of BIM, thereby helping its industry achieve a quantum leap in its productivity and quality.
About Building Information Modelling
Building information modelling (BIM) is a process involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of a facility. The resulting building information models become shared knowledge resources to support decision-making about a facility from earliest conceptual stages, through design and construction, through its operational life and eventual demolition.
Having involved in many prestigious projects in the international scene, Nova is the recognised pioneer provider of BIM solutions and services to the construction industry.
