EYRIS WINS TOP TECH INNOVATION AWARD

24 Jan 2022 – The Techblazer Awards is Singapore’s highest accolade for tech innovation and aims to provide recognition and endorsement to organisations that have exemplified the spirit of innovation in their development of tech products and services, or their use of tech to achieve excellence. The Awards also aim to spur greater innovation from the winning companies and propel them to greater heights in the region and internationally, with the hopes that these companies will also blaze the trail for others.

In total, Techblazer Awards 2021 received 440 nominations across 3 categories, the highest since the award’s inception in 2018.

EyRIS was named winner in the MOST PROMISING INNOVATION category which recognises the innovation behind solution developed, impact of its deployment and supporting a commercially viable & sustainable model. SELENA+, which was originally developed by Singapore Eye Research Institute and National University of Singapore School of Computing in partnership with start-up EyRIS, automatically grades fundus images and detects 3 main retinal diseases; diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma suspect and age-related macular degeneration. This award also recognises the potentially high-growth markets EyRIS is in and the success in marketing SELENA+ to 22 countries.

The award ceremony was graced by Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Communications and Information.
