Jun 2018 – Nova is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a contract by Public Utilities Board in Singapore for a sum of Singapore Dollar Five Million One Hundred Sixty Eight Thousand Nine Hundred and Seventy (S$5,168,970 or approximately RM15.4 million). Under the Contract, Nova shall supply, deliver and implement and maintain a Building Information Modelling (BIM) Checking System for Building Plan Submission 
.
The Building Information Modelling (BIM) Checking Systems is based on Nova’s product, FORNAX ePlanCheck an Artificial Intelligence-based Automated Building Plan Checking System.
The first part of the project is to translate PUB’s sewerage, drainage and water design regulations and combine that with Subject Matter Expert knowledge into the computable software checking program. Using FORNAX, the world’s first AI Automated Plan Checking Software will perform automated checking against “Electronic Building Models” for any non-compliance against regulatory requirements. It will also help to reduce ambiguities and subjectivity in code interpretation by different individuals.
FORNAX ePlanCheck promises to transform the laborious nature of plan checks, whittling down a task which normally takes weeks or even months to mere hours – giving the industry a tremendous boost in productivity.
To ensure inter-operability, FORNAX is designed to support the international BIM Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) standard which is adopted by the industry worldwide. Internally, FORNAX enhances the raw IFC data with built-in geometry engine, graphing and query-able model database which enables the engine to perform complex computations. FORNAX’s object-based model offer mature Application Programming Interface (API) to support wide-range computation requirements operating in both low level data as well as higher level semantic data. Quoted in many industry conferences, international academics have recognised FORNAX contributions in overcoming plan checking challenges.
