Mar 2019–EyRIS is proud to announce that one of our founders, Prof Wong Tien Yin was awarded the Jose Rizal Medal at the 34th Congress of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) in Bangkok, Thailand on 6 Mar 2019.
Each year, the Jose Rizal Medal is given to an outstanding ophthalmologist for his/her excellence in ophthalmology in the Asia-Pacific region. The medal commemorates Dr Jose Rizal, an ophthalmologist and national hero of the Philippines.

About EyRIS
EyRIS develops and deploys AI Deep Learning System (DLS) in healthcare industry. DLS, a breakthrough machine learning technology, utilizes representation-learning methods with multiple levels of representation to process natural data in their raw form, recognizing the intricate structures in high-dimensional data.
SELENA+, our first DLS solution, performs automated image analysis for eye diseases such diabetes retinopathy with add-on modules for glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration. Through partnerships, we are also able to provide tele-ophthalmology services.
EyRIS is a start-up that has been incorporated as a joint spin-off with SERI and NUS-SoC to further develop and commercialize the solution.
