16 Oct 2023 – EyRIS is thrilled to announce a couple of partnerships in Yangon and Singapore to bring cutting-edge AI technology to Myanmar. In the near future, the cities of Yangon and Mandalay will witness the deployment of EyRIS’ state-of-the-art fully autonomous fundus camera, seamlessly integrated with our AI capabilities. This dynamic partnership is set to transform the landscape of eye care in Myanmar, focusing on the prompt detection and management of diabetic-induced eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration.
In a report assessing the state of eye care in Myanmar submitted to International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), it was noted there is no structured training for primary health care staff in eye screening & care. With ~450 ophthalmologists serving a population of 54 million, the approach to screen the masses efficiently is needed.
With this collaboration, our partner is able offer screening services using SELENA+, our AI that performs automated image analysis for eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy with add-on modules for glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.
SELENA+ is a Deep Learning System (DLS), a breakthrough machine learning technology that utilizes representation-learning methods with multiple levels of representation to process natural data in their raw form, recognizing the intricate structures in high-dimensional data. This revolutionary tech performs automated image analysis for eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy with add-on modules for glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration. This tech has the potential to significantly decrease public health care costs while ensuring the highest standard of care.
