8 Jun 2026 – NOVA is proud to announce the successful Go-LIVE of the EyRIS Advanced AI Eye Health Screening platform at the Health Screening Centre of Island Hospital Penang, bringing AI-powered retinal screening into the hospital’s preventive healthcare services.
The EyRIS platform enhances eye health screening by enabling fast, non-invasive retinal assessments with SELENA+ AI-assisted detection of major eye conditions, including Diabetic Retinopathy (DR), Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), and Glaucoma — delivering results within minutes.
A key milestone of this implementation is the successful integration of EyRIS AI Platform with Island Hospital’s VESALIUS Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, creating a streamlined workflow that reduces manual processes and allows healthcare professionals to access screening information efficiently within existing clinical operations.
The successful deployment was made possible through close collaboration between Island Hospital’s ICT, clinical, operational, management, and Health Screening Centre teams together with NOVA/EyRIS project, implementation, and technical teams. Comprehensive testing, workflow validation, system integration, and user training ensured smooth adoption and operational readiness.
With AI now fully embedded into their screening workflow, Island Hospital further strengthens its preventive healthcare offerings by supporting earlier detection, timely interventions, and improved patient experience.
