CO-FOUNDER OF EYRIS ELECTED AS A 2025 FELLOW OF ROYAL SOCIETY

20 May 2025 – Recognised for his invaluable contributions to science and innovation, Professor Wong Tien Yin Senior Vice-Chancellor of Tsinghua Medicine and Vice-Provost of Tsinghua University, China has been elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society, the UK’s national academy of sciences.

Professor Wong’s research in artificial intelligence and digital technologies has led to the invention of SELENA+ which is used to improve diabetic retinopathy screening program in Singapore and internationally. His research has expanded to cover diagnosis and prediction of major eye and systemic diseases and has published extensively in over 1,600 papers, including papers in the NEJM, Lancet and JAMA.

To have his name inscribed alongside the luminaries of science such as Sir Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Marie Curie and Stephen Hawking is a testament to Professor Wong’s extraordinary contributions to science, medicine, and innovation over the past 30 years.
