29 September 2025 – Hari Perkhidmatan Awam (Civil Service Day) in Brunei Darussalam is an annual event that demonstrates gratitude and to honour the dedication of civil servants striving towards progress and prosperity of the nation. This year it is celebrated under the theme “Resilience and Unity of the Public Service: A Catalyst for National Well-Being” held at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Brunei.
The visionary National AI Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Project was launched in Brunei Darussalam in Oct 2024, making it the 2nd country in the world to adopt artificial intelligence to transform how healthcare can be delivered to all citizens in every corner of the Sultanate. So you can imagine how proud we were when the national initiative was chosen to be showcased during their 32nd Civil Service Day 2025 celebration

Aside from Brunei Darussalam, this breakthrough technology is also adopted by Singapore in 2020 and Sultanate of Oman for their national diabetic retinopathy screening programs, underscoring its proven impact and global relevance in advancing preventive and population health.
