Dec 2020 – Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA) has awarded to novaCITYNETS, a subsidiary of Nova MSC the project to develop a BIM Model Checker for CORENET X.

CORENET X is envisioned as the one-stop digital portal to transform the regulation and management of building information submission and approval across all relevant government agencies.

By preparing and submitting a single BIM model comprising of civil & structural, architectural, mechanical & electrical components, project consultants no longer need to deal with multiple agencies individually. From this BIM model, respective government agencies can extract relevant information for compliance review and provide a coordinated response. This is expected to further improve the processing and approval time.

The BIM Model Checker (BIM-MC) is one of the key features in CORENET X to facilitate automatic multi-disciplinary building code checking on open format IFC BIM models. The BIM-MC is also intended for pre-checking of designs before submission to the 7 regulatory agencies for processing and approval. Reducing design errors, omissions and oversights would mean less time and costs to retrospectively correct design or even construction if left undetected.

This award is for the Pilot Trial Phase under the Outcome-Based Procurement Tender. The Pilot Trial will be evaluated on a working prototype based on the regulatory requirements to demonstrate the performance and capability of our proposed solution. Upon successful completion of the Pilot Trial Phase, the project could enter into the Final Award Phase at the Authority’s discretion.

As part of the project offering, our flagship product; FORNAX ePlanCheck is deployed in the cloud during the Pilot Trial Phase, for the Trial and Assessment period. For more information about FORNAX Cloud, please refer to
