NOVAHEALTH IMPROVES PATIENT SAFETY THROUGH COLLABORATION WITH CLINICAL DECISION SUPPORT SOLUTION

novaHEALTH has recently formed a strategic partnership with MIMS, a leading provider of digital knowledge solutions for healthcare professionals in Asia Pacific. The MIMS Clinical Decision Support Solution is integrated with both VESALIUS Hospital Information System and AVICENNA Specialist Clinic Management System to reduce medication errors and enhance patient outcomes.

“We are pleased to partner with a leading HIS vendor like novaHEALTH to deliver the tools that healthcare institutions need to enhance patient care and ensure future compliance,” said Leong Wai Fun, Vice President, Healthcare Data Asia, MIMS.

The first customer to benefit from this best-of-breed solution is Cardio Vascular Sentral Kuala Lumpur (CVSKL). In referencing the MIMS database, VESALIUS shall auto-check against drug allergies, duplicate medication and contraindications when clinicians or nurses carry out prescriptions. Using MIMS Drug Information, our customers can conduct their patient education – to teach patients about medication dosage and instructions.

The MIMS database includes regionally-approved brand and generic prescriptions drugs, OTC drugs (relevant therapeutic classes), nutritional products, vitamins & minerals, health supplements and dermatological & personal care products.

As an add-on module, MIMS can also provide a catalogue of drug product images for improved item identification.
