PHYSICIAN SUPPORT SYSTEMS
An essential module in any general clinical setting, VESALIUS - CIS™‘ Physician Support System (PSS) was designed to provide caregivers improved patient education, care and documentation in a multi-practice environment.

The system tracks all notes made by the physician and presents the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in a logical & structured way. There is a capability to perform body charting on images & tag digital photographs of clinical encounters with these charts allowing physicians to graphically follow the patient’s treatment progress and disease outcome.

PSS also comes with Order management to support direct order entry of medication, investigations such as laboratory & radiological tests and procedures. These requests are instantly routed to relevant departments for processing.

In prescription, PSS captures medical alerts and drug allergies to prevent adverse drug events. The system can also be integrated with drug & dosing databases to improve patient safety.

Administrative tasks such as medical reports and referrals are simplified with auto-extraction of data into standard templates.

ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS
PSS operates across all clinical and ancillary services to capture and unify a single cumulative patient record. The central EMR repository provides physicians with real-time access to vital patient information to help make treatment more objective and personalized to individual needs. This greatly reduces the dependency on labour-intensive activities such as medical records extraction.

The data such as lab results and vital signs can also be presented in a timescale chart to highlight progress made over specified period.

VESALIUS - CIS™ includes a function to measure patient’s response to treatment protocols. With this unique feature, the physician has the ability to review outcomes, analyze trends and make quality adjustments to the care given.

PERI-OPERATIVE CHARTING
VESALIUS - CIS™ extends into the needs of operating theatres via our Peri-Operative Charting module, designed to assist surgeons, anaesthetists and nurses in:-

• Day surgery recording of nursing notes taken during admission and preparation for surgery
• Consolidation of clinical information on the surgical procedure from information provided by anaesthetists, surgeons and theatre nurses
• Co-ordination of post operative care instructions
• Autologous blood management
• Peri-Op can be extended to cover medical and surgical specialties such as Endoscopy, Colorectal and Urology.

ONCOLOGY PRESCRIPTION
In an oncology clinic, complicated regimes of drugs are often prescribed for the cancer stricken patients. These drugs vary in dose and frequency. And any mistakes made in either the preparation and dispensing of these drugs can often lead to potentially catastrophic outcomes.

Our oncolgy prescription system was designed so that these errors are minimized. There are constant checks and reminders to both the prescribers and the dispensers. There is also an audit trail to look back and prevent these life-threatening errors.

DISEASE MANAGEMENT
Disease Management (DM) is essentially a sophisticated intelligent disease management system that helps in the clinical decision-making process and care management.

At the core, a rules-based engine provides a layer of intelligent auto-prompters defined to “advise” the doctor on recommended treatment & management for the patient at various stages of a particular chronic disease. The engine can also watch for adverse lab results or vital signs such as blood pressure.

With CarePlans-Manager, standard treatment protocols can be set-up adhering to evidence-based medicine. This ensures doctors follow a minimum level of care in performing of investigations, drug prescription & providing advisories.

Data from the DM repository can be used to track variances, quantify outcomes & program benefits and review & enhance existing protocols.
