NOVA’S EXPANSION INTO SMART BUILDING CAPABILITY

In Apr 2016, Nova MSC Berhad (“Nova”) completed the acquisition of a further 31% equity stake in its Singapore-based associated company, CNA Development Pte Ltd (“CNAD”), thereby making CNAD a 51% subsidiary of Nova. The acquisition will expand Nova’s capabilities to provide, design and implement smart building solutions in buildings and facilities to customers in various industries in Singapore including, amongst others, healthcare, aviation and transportation as well as services to commercial complexes.

CNAD is an award-winning Master Systems Integrator (“MSI”) for smart buildings as well as a facilities management and mechanical engineering solutions provider. Committed to environmental sustainability through its Water, Energy and Environment strategic directions, CNAD provides green solutions to customers, leveraging on its core Information Communication Technology (“ICT”) knowledge and expertise.

Amongst their many prestigious customers are Changi International Airport Terminals 1-3, National Heart Centre, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Singapore MRT Downtown & North-South Lines, Rolls-Royce Achord Project, Intel Micron and Public Utilities Board’s Ulu Pandan Water Reclamation Plant.

With this acquisition, Nova plans to combine complimentary expertise from the two organisations to offer end-to-end solutions, especially in the building & construction industry and smart city development.
